Do You Write Letters to Your Children and Spouse?

Do you write letters to your children or spouse? I thought about this today as I was writing my daughter’s Easter card and my husband’s Easter card.  In our house the holidays are celebrated together, usually around the dinner table with extended family and friends.  We do not spend lavishly on gifts, but I always give a card with a note or letter to them.

What do you write about?

What topics do you write about in your holiday letter or card to your children and spouse? There are two topics in every card or letter I write about: gratitude and love.  Even though I tell them every day I love them, there is something about putting it in writing, a special note just for them. My Wish, Poem to Husband

In fact, my writings started from the time my husband and I met. His birthday was shortly after and so I decided to write a poem for him…this poem carried through to our wedding and still sings in our house.  A reminder of the impact
putting a pen to paper has to those you love (and love you).

Holiday Challenge

I am putting out a simple challenge to everyone this Easter holiday. Instead of just signing all of your Easter cards, make sure you include a special message of gratitude and love.  Not only to your spouse and children, but all family and friends.  You just might
be surprised at the response – from them and for yourself.
